Large mural painting by Pelmo. August 2019. Spray paint and acrylic on block wall. 6' by 9'.

The weekend prior to painting this I'd taken part in a drawing jam thing at the Hen & Chicken where I'd drawn the first version of this. I think they've knocked that building down now.
I enjoyed every minute of painting this. It took a day to prep the unpainted concrete block wall and 2 days to paint the image.
I felt relaxed and really enjoyed painting this. Painting in public feels like a performance which can be stressfull. I have to calm myself enough so that I make good creative choices and have a natural hand movement. It also helps to have a plan and know how fast you paint so you don't get over-ambitious and decide to put in a complicated woodland background 30 minutes before sunset.
Update Feb 2021: I was contacted by a film production company who were filming in Lucky Lane for a new Stephen Merchant TV series. They needed me to release permission for my piece to appear in the background. It's interesting how careful companies like the BBC are to make sure permission is sought. Even to include public street art in the background of a shot. It makes sense given the huge public rows that regularly occur over fashion companies doing shoots in front of street art and using multiple shots that feature the painting heavily to make the clothes look more appealing.
